About Scotia Council #838
Scotia Council #838 was founded in 1959 and is one of 14 United Commercial Travelers (UCT) Councils in Atlantic Canada which is known as Atlantic Grand. Atlantic Grand was founded in 1956 and represents the four Atlantic Provinces. Scotia Council is one of 5 Councils representing the province of Nova Scotia. UCT has been around since 1888 with its beginnings in Columbus, Ohio. In June of 2009 we will celebrating our 50th Anniversary.
UCT is an a fraternal benefit society offering members various insurance products and benefits has nearly 100,000 members in more than 300 local councils in cities and towns throughout the United States and Canada. UCT is a member of National Fraternal Congress of America (NFCA) and the Canadian Fraternal Association (CFA).
UCT offers its membership affordable insurance protection to their members and provides mutual aid and support through fraternal benefit and discount programs and much more.
